Two others supported serious wounds in the episode, which was accounted for to police at 2.38pm on Sunday.
Rescue vehicle and crisis clinical supplier Hato Sharpen St John said it was told of an occurrence on Muriwai Ocean side at 2.35pm.
The Westpac Salvage Helicopter administration affirmed two airplanes had been dispatched to help.
"Westpac one and three have taken care of an occurrence in Muriwai this evening," a representative said.
The Serious Accident Unit went to the scene, with examinations concerning the reason for the accident progressing.
