Police in Canada have accused a Montreal man of taking steps to kill State leader Justin Trudeau in web-based entertainment posts on X, previously Twitter, the Imperial Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on Wednesday.
The man, 30, faces a lawbreaker allegation of expressing dangers and will show up at the Montreal town hall on Wednesday, the RCMP said in a proclamation. The charge conveys a greatest sentence of two years in prison.
The RCMP said the charge was recorded on Jan. 31 after a short examination concerning the man's "compromising remarks," without giving more subtleties.
