Kashfia Chowdhury, a talent hailing from Dhaka's Keraniganj, is gradually carving out her own niche in the media industry. A former student of Nayabazar University College, this young artist has been dedicatedly building her career over the past four years. While her roots are in Keraniganj, her aspirations now reach far beyond.
Kashfia’s journey into the media wasn't a pre-planned one; it began simply with a passion for photography. What started as hobbyist photoshoots and minor acting roles eventually evolved into a serious career. Recalling her first experience behind the camera, she shared that it was a unique blend of nervousness and excitement- a thrill for doing something new that outweighed her initial fears.
Since childhood, Kashfia felt a strong pull toward the world of glamour. She would watch fashion shows with intense interest, often earning a scolding from her mother. Practicing her walk in front of the mirror and rehearsing acting expressions were part of her daily routine. However, the path was not always smooth. She faced significant bullying in her younger years, often being mockingly called "Miss Universe Aishwarya," which led her to withdraw from social interactions for a time.
Undeterred, Kashfia found her inner strength. As her desire to move beyond still photography grew, she shifted her focus toward modeling. Encouraged by frequent compliments on her natural grace and walking style, she realized her potential on the ramp.
Like many newcomers, Kashfia faces challenges, citing the struggle to maintain individuality and finding the right mentorship as key hurdles. Behind the glamour lies a world of patience and rigorous hard work- lessons she holds dear. She believes that while failures and obstacles are inevitable, they are merely opportunities to learn and grow.
Currently, Kashfia is busy with fashion shows, but her ambitions extend to OTT platforms and cinema. She aims to prioritize high-quality storytelling and character depth, wishing to be recognized not just for her screen presence, but as a skilled performer.
Regarding family support, Kashfia mentioned that while her family was initially hesitant, they have become supportive after seeing her dedication. She notes that the belief of loved ones is crucial for navigating such a demanding industry.
Kashfia draws inspiration from legendary figures like Shabnur, Humayun Faridi, Jaya Ahsan, and Api Karim. Their craft and professional journeys continue to motivate her. Her message to other aspiring artists is clear: there are no shortcuts. Success comes through hard work, grooming, and constant self-improvement.
