Sifat Nusrat to Lead Country’s First Vampire–Werewolf Series - ISN

Bangladeshi actress, model and entrepreneur Sifat Nusrat is set to headline what is being described as the country’s first supernatural series centered on vampires and werewolves, marking a new chapter in Bangladesh’s evolving digital entertainment landscape.

The upcoming series, based on an original manuscript written by Nusrat, was acquired by Red Productions even before the book’s official publication. The production house is developing the project as a 10-episode first season.

Nusrat will portray the main protagonist - a vampire - while actor Shyamal Mawla will star opposite her in the role of a werewolf. Actress Samira Khan Mahi is set to appear in a key human character, adding further depth to the narrative.

According to Nusrat, production has been underway since 2025 and has taken more than eight months to complete. Seven of the ten episodes have been finalized, with work on the remaining three nearing completion. Dubbing has concluded, and post-production is currently in progress.

“Our series is not yet fully completed,” Nusrat said. “Seven episodes of the first season are done, and the remaining three will be completed soon. We are bringing a supernatural story to audiences within a Bangladeshi context, which will be a truly exciting experience.”

She described the adaptation of her manuscript into a series prior to the book’s release as a significant personal milestone. “It is an honor that my written manuscript has been transformed into a series even before being published as a book. We are planning to introduce more new projects in the future,” she added.

The novel, titled ‘The Red Moon’, is also scheduled to be released at the upcoming Ekushey Book Fair, one of Bangladesh’s largest literary events.

Industry observers note that the project represents a rare venture into the supernatural genre in Bangladesh, particularly with themes centered on vampires and werewolves - a genre more commonly associated with Western entertainment markets.

In a statement addressing members of the media, Nusrat expressed regret for maintaining limited communication during production. “I apologize to journalists for staying out of contact for so long. I wanted to ensure the work was done properly. Until it was complete, I had to distance myself from many people,” she said.

With a premiere show planned, the series is expected to offer Bangladeshi audiences - particularly Gen Z viewers - a fresh entry into the supernatural drama genre.
